Our plan for COVID-19

To our Customers,

In the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic where things worldwide are changing rapidly and constantly, Globex Worldwide Courier has prioritized its efforts to protect the health and safety of our employees, our customers, and our operations.

Please be assured that we are closely monitoring both the outbreak progression and recommended preventative measures. In addition to these, we wanted to share with you a few of the added precautions and immediate steps we have taken in order to operate safely.

Someone may wonder if a package is safe to touch.

Even though the World Health organization (WHO) has made it clear that it is safe to handle a package, even if it comes from a place where the virus has been reported, our drivers, as well as our operations, staff will be equipped with protective masks and surgical gloves to ensure that shipment handling does not contribute to the spread of the virus.

We have also taken preventive measures for our office staff and sales force. Since Monday March 16th, office personnel work remotely from home and have all the tools to continue serving and helping you for your shipping needs. Our Sales Team continue to support you in all your quotes and requirements by contacting you through Teleconference tools.

Globex’s management Team and our health and safety committee are continuously following the developments as they occur and are following any and all safety measures provided by the health and government agencies.

Globex is an essential service keeping commerce moving and delivering critical relief during the COVID-19 crisis. We are still delivering under state-of-emergency and shelter-in-place restrictions issued in Canada and various parts of the world. These restrictions are disrupting the global supply chain. Ground & cargo capacity is limited, and we have had to adjust so that our domestic and international networks can best deliver much-needed goods and services in this constrained environment.

To continue providing our customers with the best possible service during this time, we are implementing a temporary Safety and Security surcharge (SSS) on all Globex shipments beginning April 6th.This temporary Safety & Security surcharge will allow us to cover part of the operating cost increases and the necessary Ground and air network adjustments during the time of this emergency. Please find below how the SSS is being calculated.

Safety & Security Surcharge (SSS)

Globex will temporarily implement the following new surcharge to all its services effective July 1st 2020:

For all Domestic shipments: 1.75$ per shipment
Exports: Greater of 1.75$ or 0.26$ per ½ kg
Imports: Greater of 5$ or 0.26$ per ½ kg
Imports from China & Hong Kong: Greater of 5$ or 0.68$ per ½ kg

Rest assured that we are taking this situation seriously and applying all efforts to keep all concerned safe.

Should you wish to inquire more or have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Team.

Let us all hope that we find a vaccine soon so everyone can feel safe again.

Sincerely,

Arié Bettan
President
